For more then 15 years now, Robby Bolleyn has travelled in Tanzania, Eastern Africa to capture the wildlife in his own special way.

Robby Bolleyn was born in Antwerp, Belgium, in 1966. Robby studied Photography and Marketing. He began his career as Office Manager at the World Wide Fund for Nature, but decided to devote his life to full-time photography.
Robby lives with his wife, Marleen Koppen, on a farmhouse in Burgundy, in France, surrounded by meadows and woods.

This selection of images of African animals is the result of a series of extensive safaris in Tanzania over a period of many years.
Robby wanted to portray the African animals as mysterious creatures – magical and graceful – while capturing their wildness and savagery. Searching for penetrating portraits, he wished to present the African animal kingdom in an unusual and authentic manner.

The animals were not to be viewed with a merely observant eye, but were to be examined with much more depth. Each image had to be a challenge, every single time. This was Robby’s way of approaching African fauna; these limited edition prints are the final result of his efforts.

All images were taken in Tanzania, in natural conditions, mainly within the Serengeti-ecosystem, from a Landrover or on foot. When on foot he was always accompanied by an armed ranger.

Maureen Bachaus’ work consists primarily of assemblages, with the basis often formed by photography. These assemblies are actually portraits of people, in which their feelings and thoughts have been a focal point.

A (often enlarged) photoprint acts as a background, with assembled elements which suggest a portion of the underlying story. These elements are sometimes objects with traces of human use, drawings, or lines of texts that are in fact fragments of the peoples thoughts that reveal the essence of the mind at the time that the portrait was made.

A frequently used material is rope, sometimes pierced rawly through the image. This rope, sometimes in a knot, sometimes with hanging parts, symbolizes the limitation or even captivity but also the freedom experienced by certain thoughts and feelings.

Silvio Zangarini was born in Turin in 1981. He is a traveler, photographer, philosopher, and lover of architecture, who has dedicated his life to research.

His view of reality guides him in his research and inspires to capture these images in pictures: a reality that does not have any preconceived order and therefore is open to interpretation. Zangarini’s pictures express his point of view about the world, which, through his photographs, becomes more relevant than the subject itself. These images transcend his personal order, giving sense to chaos.

For Zangarini, the primary subject of his pictures is everyday life, which at the beginning was a reality to discover and subsequently became a place where he discovered a deeper mystery that is always hidden behind what appears to be banal. By seeking a deeper mystery, one is led to ask questions about the meaning rather than be given answers. Art allows him to combine the appeal of the mystery to the will of action that has emerged from his philosophical contemplations; his life has evolved from asking how to asking why.

Scottish born photojournalist Harry Benson (1929) arrived in America with the Beatles in 1964. Harry has photographed every U.S. president from Eisenhower to Barack Obama; was just feet away from Bobby Kennedy the night he was assassinated; in the room with Richard Nixon when he resigned; on the Meredith march with Martin Luther King Jr, next to Coretta Scott King at her husband's funeral; on maneuvers with the IRA; was there when the Berlin Wall went up and when it came down; and covered the aftermath of Katrina in New Orleans.

On January 1, 2009. Harry was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and received his honor at Buckingham Palace in March. Harry was honored with a Doctor of Letters from the Glasgow School of Art and Glasgow University in 2007. Her received many awards, has had over 40 gallery solo exhibitions and many books of his photographs have been published. The latest one (2012) is a Taschen Limited Edition: "The Beatles on the Road 1964 - 1966".

Krukhaug, Espen

Espen Krukhaug was born in 1978, in a small town just outside of Oslo, Norway. Though photography started out as a hobby, it led to the release of his first book ‘Skinhead’ in 2004. He wanted to pursue his interest and moved to London to study photography at Camberwell College of Art. He graduated in 2008 and went on to publish his second book ‘Before Dawn’. This book features an introduction by Philip Chevron, from the band The Pogues. And in collaboration, the band Orangedark composed music inspired by the photos.

In 2011 he published his third book ‘Bifröst’. A series of images portraying insomnia, something the artist has dealt with first hand. He experienced this project as therapeutic. Instead of laying in bed and trying to get some sleep, he went for walks in a delirious state of mind. Not really sure if he was dreaming or not. Not really sure the things he saw were real.

Welcome in the lonesome, but fascinating world of Urban Exploration. With urban exploring, the explorers are creating an exposure of the lost glory and industrial decline. Thus documenting normally unwanted and forbidden parts of our society.

Dutch photographer Jan Stel started taking pictures in his teenage years, visually exploring lifes moments. The old Nikon camera and lens gear from his dad made him even more interested. After the art academy he has done a follow up course in photography. With his skills in Photoshop, Motion and his profession at Souverein it has made him a specialist in creative imagery.

The fascination for derelict structures and corroded colors made him search for unique abandoned and desolate places. Attracted by the beauty of these abandonments, he started capturing the long forgotten history of that past. Trespassing of these abandonments is forbidden and quite dangerous. But in common, gates are wide open and doors are unlocked. Now he's showing the beauty of what most people at first sight experience as ugly and lost. In respect Stel never forces his way in and doesn't take any souvenirs. By doing so, the conditions are left as they were when he entered the scene.

Terry O’Neill (born in 1938), whose coveted work hangs in national galleries and private collections worldwide, has produced covers for Time, Newsweek, Stern, Paris Match, The Sunday Times Magazine, Vanity Fair and many others over the course of his six-decade career. Since he first picked up a camera in 1958, he has photographed presidents, prime ministers, rock stars, Oscar winners and the British Royal Family. His work has delivered iconic movie posters, album covers and fashion plates for the world’s top designers.

Mr. O’Neill has chronicled the lives of emerging rock stars and icons of the 60s including David Bowie, Elton John, The Who, Eric Clapton, Chuck Berry and many others. He photographed The Beatles and The Rolling Stones when they were struggling young bands and worked closely with Frank Sinatra for over 30 years, being granted access to the legend back stage and in private.

Former husband to legendary actress Faye Dunaway, his photograph of her in Beverley Hills, the morning after she won her Best Actress Oscar for Network, has been nominated as the most iconic Hollywood shot of all time. His photographs of Brigitte Bardot, Jean Shrimpton and Audrey Hepburn capture the charisma of these superstars at the peak of their careers.

Vicent Zedelius is born in Bonn, Germany in 1977. From 1997 - 2001 he studied at the Photo Academy in Amsterdam and from 2002 - 2005 at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. His work could be seen in many group exhibitions and during a solo exhibition in FOAM in 2006. His work is published internationally and is part of several museum, corporate and private collections.

Hans Withoos (1962) is an experienced fashion and advertising photographer, based in Rotterdam. For commissioned work he also collaborates with Jolanda Cats. Personal ‘fine art’ work of Hans Withoos is characterized by colourful images full of fantasy, with eccentric aesthetics. In an intriguing manner he uses image manipulation. His work was exhibited in galleries and at art fairs in The Netherlands and the United States. And it is internationally included in institutional and private art collections.

Dan Wallin is a Swedish photographer, living and working in Göteborg and Grebbestad. For his free work he is fascinated by polaroids and old fashioned techniques. He buys old packages of polaroid films from all over the world, uses them and only then he can see what the result is. The coloring and stripes are a result of the way the films were handled in past. Then he makes a high res scan so the polaroids can be reproduced in a small edition.

Eric Watson (1955 - 2012) was an English photographer. Watson moved to London in 1974 to study fine art at Hornsey Art College, where his contemporaries included Adam Ant and became an assistant to the photographer Red Saunders in 1980 and soon branched out as a photographer in his own right, primarily in the pop music business. From 1981 to 1985 he was one of the main photographers for "Smash Hits" magazine where his friend Neil Tennant was assistant editor.

When Tennant formed the Pet Shop Boys with Chris Lowe, Watson took the first photographs of them and was their main photographer and video director from 1984 to 1991. Watson was much in demand as a pop photographer throughout the 1980s, his images of Spandau Ballet and Frankie Goes to Hollywood being particularly memorable.

The first video he directed was "Opportunities (Lets make lots of money)" for Pet Shop Boys in 1985, his co-director being Andy Morahan. He subsequently directed a series of Pet Shop Boys videos, including "Suburbia", "What have I done to deserve this?", "Domino dancing" and "DJ Culture". He also directed videos for many other pop artists including Holly Johnson and Yaz before concentrating on TV commercials.

Dutch photographer Marie Cécile Thijs (December 27, 1964, Heerlen, The Netherlands) specializes in portraiture. In her photographs she strives for intensity and illusion. She mingles contemporary style with classical aesthetics. Marie Cécile Thijs initially had a career as a lawyer, but more than fifteen years ago she rediscovered her earlier love for the camera, and decided to become a photographer. Since then, she has achieved recognition for her photoseries 'Human Angels', 'White Collar' and 'Legal Practitioners'. She is also known for her portraits of many politicians, artists and writers.

Her photography is regularly published and acquired by art collectors and corporations, and she exhibits frequently in Amsterdam and throughout Europe. In the Netherlands, her work is represented by Eduard Planting, and she is alligned with photo agency Hollandse Hoogte. In conjunction with her life as a photographer, she is a teacher at the Photo Academy (Fotoacademie).

Sturges, Jock

Jock Sturges (born 1947) is an American photographer, best known for his images of nude adolescents and their families, primarily taken at communes in Northern California and at the Atlantic-coast naturist resort at Montalivet, France. His work has been the subject of controversy. Much of his work features Californian Misty Dawn, whom he shot from when she was a young child until in her twenties. In 1990, his San Francisco studio was raided by FBI officers and his equipment seized. A Grand Jury subsequently declined to bring an indictment against him.

Sturges graduated with a BFA in Perceptual Psychology and Photography from Marlboro College and received an MFA in photography from the San Francisco Art Institute. He primarily works with a large 8x10-inch-format view camera. (Source: Wikipedia)

Born in Vietnam, René-Jacques moved to Paris and began working as a photographer in 1924. There he photographed the social problems of the 1930s, later working for architects and film studios. After WWII he primarily photographed rural subject matter, including his well known series of the Renault car factory in Paris, France.

Christopher Regis-Gludd (London 1964) visited Amsterdam for the first time in 1993. Bewitched by the vitality of the city he threw himself, no holds barred, into the nightlife or 'night clubbing' as he called it. Come nightfall, armed with a reasonably heavy, somewhat awkward Leica R4, he would slip into the nocturnal world. He was a legal alien who couldn't speak the native tongue, on the look-out for interesting characters, seeing just how far he could go with his camera. (text: Pim Milo in GUP Magazine, Summer 2009).

Erwin Olaf (Erwin Olaf Springveld) is born in 1959 in Hilversum, The Netherlands. He studied journalism at the School of Journalism in Utrecht. His early work has been inspired by Hans van Manen en Robert Mapplethorpe.

Olaf is most famous for his commercial and personal work. He has been commissioned to photograph advertising campaigns for large international companies such as Levi's, Microsoft, Diesel and Louis Vuitton. Some of his most famous photographic series include "Grief", "Rain", "Hope" and "Royal Blood". Never one to shy away from controversy, Olaf's work is often daring and provocative. Humorously however, one of his early photographs was once expelled from a show on the basis of not containing nudity.

His work has received many awards, including the prestigious Johannes Vermeer Award (a Dutch State price) in 2011. His work has been exhibited all around the world.
